Good vintage condition. 1965 hardcover with original illustrated dust jacket, protected in a clear removable cover. Binding remains intact, with noticeable wear/fraying at the upper and lower spine corners as shown. Pages show normal age toning and light spotting/soiling consistent with age. Dust jacket has some age-related wear and discoloration.
Front endpaper contains a 1965 handwritten inscription signed “Malena S. Sewell” (name appears to read this way). There is also a separate Eugenia Price signature label/bookplate affixed to the facing endpaper. I would not claim that the Eugenia Price signature has been authenticated; sell it as an apparent/signature label and show your close-up photo.

This particular copy has some interesting provenance/autograph features. The front endpaper bears a handwritten inscription dated Christmas 1965, appearing to read:
“To Marge
with appreciation
Malena S. Sewell
Christmas 1965”
A separate label bearing what appears to be Eugenia Price\'s signature is affixed to the facing endpaper. Signature has not been independently authenticated, so please examine the detailed photographs and make your own determination.
Original dust jacket retains the $4.50 price on the flap and is currently protected by a clear removable protective cover.
Important identification
The copyright page specifically says “Second Printing,” so this is not a first edition/first printing. That\'s important—I wouldn\'t put “First Edition” anywhere in the listing.
The Eugenia Price signature label is potentially the most valuable feature here. I would definitely use your close-up of it in the listing, but phrase the title conservatively. If you want to emphasize it while staying accurate, an alternative title is:
