2005 Fender American Deluxe Factory Special Run that was made for dealers. It is a '62 AVRI in ice blue metallic with a matching headstock. This beautiful Stratocaster is in excellent condition and comes with the original G&G case and all the original case candy as shown. This one is truly in excellent condition, no cracks, chips, repairs, etc.
This factory special run was a special issue that is based on a '62 reissue Stratocaster, with a thin skin nitro-cellulose finish, but with three added benefits:
- Truss rod adjustment in the headstock (no removing the neck to adjust the neck curvature)
- SCN pickups that were only offered for a limited time
- Fender S-1 switch that provides both the traditional pickup operation as well as bridge/middle and neck/middle is series (like a humbucker) as well as adding a special capacitor that adds more mid range frequencies
In the spirit of full disclosure here are the items that make this guitar different from a brand new one:
- One tiny paint chip in the back that is smaller than the tip of a pencil lead (circled in picture 11)
- The pickguard color has faded and you can see a slight discoloration where the S-1 switch sticker was
The frets are in excellent condition and the guitar plays beautifully. The only reason that I am selling this is that I bought a custom shop version of the same guitar and I don't need two.
Other details:
- 8 pounds, 5 ounces
- C shape neck that is 0.827" thick as the first fret
