An exceptional Fenton Art Glass centerpiece featuring one of Fenton's most striking color and finish combinations — Plum Opalescent Carnival Glass.
This impressive epergne consists of a large deeply ruffled Thumbprint bowl fitted with three matching removable glass horns. Rich plum and cranberry-pink tones are enhanced by brilliant carnival iridescence, producing flashes of gold, green, blue and violet depending upon the lighting. The dramatic ruffled edges terminate in contrasting white opalescent crests.
Fenton's Plum Opalescent glass has become particularly desirable among collectors. The Plum Opalescent is the reason this art glass commands hundreds of dollars (unlike basic Fenton glass) is its rare coloration. Plum opalescent was originally an unintended accidental color variation produced during an attempt to make Cranberry glass. It had an incredible brief production run, making it a Holy Grail color for dedicated Fenton Collectors.
