Offered is a lovely Micmac Mi\'kmaq-made Ash and Sweetgrass Basket.
It is an exquisite little basket, measuring 3 3/4\" to top of round handle by 3\" across at widest point. Excellent. A few curls show some frays and one shows a small split (as made). Please see pictures.
This was made by Pamela Jerome (misspelled Juomi on tag inside) of Quebec. The Jerome family of the Maria, Quebec area are all talented Micmac basket makers.
This came from a museum collection. I bought several baskets from different tribal origins from the museum sale. Some of the information on the tags is slightly incorrect (a Mr. instead of a Mrs. or some misprints and this name Juomi instead of Jerome). It\'s possible the curator was taking down information over the phone, which would explain the incorrect spelling of the name.

*I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores. Though I don\'t like styrofoam peanuts for environmental reasons, I have found they are the best at protecting fragile items against damage during shipping. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages.
