Two 16.5 cm woofers, two 8 cm midranges and two FRAK tweeters: complete, the ES 165 KX3E audio kit covers a wide frequency spectrum, with rich and dynamic mids, soft and precise highs and deep bass. The speakers are equipped with Focal’s iconic K2 membrane in aramid fiber, a performance-oriented cone for the pleasure of music in the car.Crossovers: The crossover inputs and outputs are set screw terminals; they will accept bare wire up to 10-gauge. Each crossover has bi-amp inputs, one input for the woofer and one for the midrange and tweeter. When using only two amplifier channels the crossover inputs must be shorted together using two short pieces of speaker wire. Focal recommends using four amplifier channels to bi-amp the speakers for the improved dynamic range and to present an easier load for the amp(s) to drive.
