A radiator is a heat exchanger that transfers thermal energy from one medium to another for cooling or heating. In cars, it cools the engine by passing hot coolant through fins that dissipate heat into the air.
Fault Symptoms:
The temperature gauge constantly stays in the high or red zone.
Puddles of brightly colored fluidappearing under the vehicle.
A distinctive, sweet, or syrupy odor coming from the engine bay, indicating escaping coolant.
Frequently needing to top off the coolant, indicating a leak or improper circulation.
Contaminated coolant that looks thick, rusty, or oily, indicating internal radiator corrosion.
Thecar'sheater may fail to blow hot air.

If you experience these symptoms, it is crucial to have the cooling system inspected immediately to prevent irreparable engine damage. Do not attempt to remove the radiator cap if the engine is hot, as it can cause severe burns.
Key Installation Steps:
Turn off your central heating and let the system cool down.
Drain the old radiator by opening the bleed valve, using towels to catch water.
Loosen the nuts connecting the valves to the radiator and lift it off its brackets.
Measure and mark the wall for the new brackets, using a spirit level to ensure accuracy. If mounting on plasterboard, use appropriate cavity wall fixings.
Hang the new radiator on the brackets, ensuring it is secure.
Apply plumber's tape (PTFE) to the valve threads to prevent leaks. Connect the valve tails to the radiator.
Refill the system, check for leaks, and use a radiator key to open the bleed valve to release trapped air until water flows out.
