Exceptional antique Italian art glass miniature pitcher attributed to Fratelli Toso of Murano, Italy.

This beautiful hand-worked glass pitcher is densely decorated with multicolored millefiori/murrine canes in a wonderful assortment of floral, starburst and geometric designs. Colors include cobalt and sky blue, red, orange, yellow, green, white and burgundy, all suspended within clear glass.

The pitcher has a rounded bulbous body, dramatically pinched and flared rim, and an elaborate applied clear glass handle with a twisted/ribbed design.

The piece was acquired through an sale house where it was described as Fratelli Toso. No surviving factory label or definitive signature has been located, so it is conservatively offered here as attributed to FRATELLI TOSO.

Fratelli Toso was one of Murano\'s important historic glassmaking firms and became particularly well known for colorful murrine and millefiori glass. The company\'s early millefiori production included miniature decorative vases and jugs made from elaborate arrangements of multicolored glass canes.

Based upon documented comparable Fratelli Toso murrine pitchers and miniature jugs, this piece is believed to date to the early 20th century, approximately circa 1910–1930, possibly earlier.
