A good friend spent his life as an Elvis impersonator (quite famous in his field). Throughout his career, he encountered a number of celebrities and sought autographs when appropriate. A poorly paid teacher who just suffered a terrible car accident, he gave me his autographed photos to sell… my 2008 Volkswagen Tauareg… though priceless to me, is only worth $3500 to the insurance company. (Ugh) I will note that I was traveling 55 mph with my daughter and two of her friends… a young man ran a stop sign and pulled right out in front of us! We are all pretty banged up and suffering from concussions. My generous friend gave me a number of his cherished autographed photos to assist me in relieving some of the stress from attempting to locate a safe, affordable car with fewer than 180,000 miles.
