Here is a very rare faceted NATURAL HACKMANITE gemstone from Mogok, Burma. Hackmanite is the tenebrescent variety of the mineral Sodalite. Hackmanite is a Tenebrescent stone that changes color after being exposed to UV light- it gets darker and in this case dark purple. After some time in the dark, the stone fades back. This phenomenon is repeatable, over and over again. It is also highly fluorescent under a black light. This stone is natural and untreated. It is light purple, showing orange fluorescence under LW UV light, and tenebresces to dark purple after exposure to LW UV light. It has typical surface pin pricks. This very rare stone is impressive weighing more than 6 carats with a strong tenebrescent color change. It comes with a GIA identification report stating it is a Natural Hackmanite gemstone.
