Gorgeous antique Caucasian Rug from the western shore of the Caspian Sea in a region known as Surahani. This distinct Rug was woven in the 1880s-1890s and has been lovingly cared for. Sourced from a North Shore Boston Estate, the Rug features All-natural Vegetable and mineral Dyes in still vivid colors of Prussian Blue, Scarlet, old gold, blue-green, ivory, and copper. This Rug has complete, secured ends and original triple cord selvaged edges, a rarity in a carpet this old. There are some old restorations to the pile, but it is uniform, glossy and very attractive.
