H. Nordeman Original Surrealist Paintings PAIR 1986 1987 Signed w/ Gallery Labels
Matched pair of original surrealist paintings by H. Nordeman, signed and dated 1986 and 1987. Whimsical pop-surrealist night scenes of anthropomorphic cars, trucks, and figures winding through dreamlike cobblestone cities under moons and planets — same hand, same theme, consecutive years, clearly created as companions.
Provenance: Both retain their original City Gallery inventory labels on the reverse — one marked $3,600 (inv. C4682), the other $1,800 (inv. C4182), for $5,400 combined original gallery retail. Original hanging wire and kraft paper backing intact.
The 1986 painting measures 43\" x 31\" framed and is presented in a gold wood frame with linen liner. The 1987 painting measures 41\" x 29\" framed, in a grey lacquered frame with black mat. Both are original paintings on canvas, not prints — brushwork visible throughout.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Paint surfaces are clean and vibrant with no noted losses. Frames show light wear consistent with age. Backing paper on one has minor tears (photographed).
Sold as a pair. From a smoke-free warehouse. Professionally packed with corner protection and double boxing. Please review all photos, as they form part of the description.
