History Captain Cook’s Voyages 2 Vols – Illustrated Easton Press Deluxe Limited Edition 2015 Leather Oversize
Full Title: “Full and Complete History of Captain Cook’s First, Second, Third, and Last Voyages.”
Two Volumes. Measures approximately 15-1/2 inches tall, 10 inches wide, and 2 inches deep.
Deluxe Limited Edition, numbered 387 out of 800 sets, as shown in Volume One. Copyright 2015, published by the Easton Press (Connecticut); per the copyright page, “A facsimile re-creation of the original 1784 London editions.” Illustrations are in Black & White.
Brown leather hardcovers show heavy scratches, edge wear, corner wear, shelfwear, and bumped corners. There are also numerous nicks, cuts, and indents to the leather overall on both volumes. One of the maps was not folded correctly, and the top of the page is wrinkled with small tears. Also noticeable from the top edge of Volume One, there are some wrinkles and waviness that indicate there was some fluid that distorted the page edges (up to 2-inches in both directions).
Gilt textblock has flaking and scratches. Satin bookmarkers are wrinkled and frayed. There is an Ex-Libris sticker with a previous owner’s name adhered in each volume. There is no writing or markings otherwise. Overall, this leather set is in Good condition.
