Hitachi HT-6 Direct Drive Fully Automatic Turntable• Condition: Tested and fully operational (Missing Platter Mat)• Drive System: Direct Drive (No belts to wear out or replace)• Control: Quartz Locked for precise speed stabilityUp for sale is a vintage Hitachi HT-6 Fully Automatic Turntable from the golden era of Japanese audio gear. This is a fantastic, reliable direct-drive machine featuring a Quartz lock system that ensures perfectly stable playback speeds.Testing & Operational Status:• Power: Powers on instantly with functional front-panel indicator lights.• Motor & Platter: The direct-drive motor spins smoothly, silently, and holds accurate speed flawlessly.• Tonearm Mechanics: Fully tested. The automatic functions work beautifully—the tonearm cueing lowers smoothly, and the auto-return mechanism triggers perfectly at the end of a cycle, returning the arm to its rest and powering down the motor.• Dust Cover: The original clear dust cover is included. The hinges are intact, and the cover stays upright on its own. It shows minor vintage surface wear/scuffs but is structurally solid with no cracks. What is Missing / Required:• Platter Mat: The original rubber platter mat deteriorated due to age and was discarded. You will need to supply a standard 12-inch platter mat (felt, rubber, or cork) before playing records. Note: Because this model uses automatic optical size-sensors through the platter cutouts, using a mat with matching cutout windows or a standard slipmat will allow you to get the most out of the automatic features.• Cartridge/Stylus: Please inspect the photos closely to see the current cartridge condition. As with most vintage turntables, the buyer may want to install a fresh needle/stylus for optimal sound performance.Shipping & Handling:This item will be packed with absolute care by a seasoned vintage audio seller. The platter will be secured, the tonearm will be locked and tied down, and the entire unit will be heavily padded with bubble wrap to ensure safe transit to your doorstep.
