JVC RC-550JW Radio Cassette Recorder Vintage “El Diablo” Boombox For Sale

Vintage JVC RC-550JW boombox/cassette radio in used condition.This unit has been tested and is working, with some age-related issues noted below.AM and FM radio both work, and the tuner/display lights and operates. I am able to receive stations, although I am not getting a large number of stations during testing.The cassette deck works and will play, rewind, and fast-forward tapes.Sound is present and the unit is capable of getting loud, but the volume is not always consistent. When adjusting the volume control, there can be some static/popping and the volume may jump between quieter and louder levels. Some static/noise may also be heard during cassette operation.The antenna is not original. The top tip/ball is missing, and because of the way the replacement antenna fits, it does not fold completely out of the way and prevents the carrying handle from laying completely flat.Because this is vintage electronics, no guarantees are made beyond the testing described above. I have not opened the unit or attempted internal repairs.
