Paul Jouve was a French painter, sculptor, and printmaker associated with the Art Deco movement and the animalier tradition. Active in Paris in the early 20th century, he specialized in refined depictions of wildlife rendered with structural clarity and stylized elegance. Jouve traveled extensively in North Africa and Asia, studying animals firsthand, and became known for his powerful representations of big cats and other exotic species. His work was exhibited at major Paris Salons and international exhibitions.
