The Vintage Pair of KLH Model Twenty-Four Loudspeaker System Speakers are a classic addition to any audio setup. These Walnut veneered medium bookshelf speakers are a unique piece of vintage electronics,  built in the United States by renowned brand KLH. Tested and confirmed to work properly , these speaker systems deliver high-quality sound for a retro audio experience. Perfect for those looking to add a touch of nostalgia to their vintage audio collection.

This pair of speakers is a rescue from student housing and as such required a great deal of attention.

Some of the corners had to be rebuilt and there were areas where the veneer had to be patched.  Somebody had spray painted over the original finish so it had to be stripped down to bare wood and refinished from scratch.

They have been restored to their current pictured condition; they look and sound great and are ready for daily use.  They have been stripped to bare veneer and refinished with linseed oil to a soft matte finish and polished with house-made beeswax-based paste wax. Several veneer patches were applied . Front walnut fascia, edges  and corners are very good condition. In addition I have recapped them with modern film capacitors and completely resealed them with modern butyl rubber sealant.  The woofer has been properly resealed with clear tacky sealant as is vintage appropriate. The speaker baffles have been resurfaced. The result is a beautiful speaker cabinet and outstanding performance from a classic Henry Kloss design ...these speakers are in furniture grade , collectable condition .

Finally the speaker grills were covered with new vintage correct cloth and  new replacement KLH badges mounted. At nearly 60 years of age these look and sound great;they have the look and vibe of fine furniture, sound smooth, open and punchy with outstanding imaging. I have been using these on and off on low stands for the last week since completing the finishing work and they sound truly wonderful. With an 8 inch large magnet woofer there is no need for a subwoofer as these provide plenty of bass, the 1st order crossover delivers smooth mids and the original tweeters the sweet non-fatigueing high end that these American made classics are famous for. These were designed by Henry Kloss and built in Cambridge, Ma., USA, were built to last and with this restoration should easily go for another 30 years.

Please note: while restored to as close to original as I could manage these speakers are 60 years old and sold as-is. My approach to restoration is one of conservation and preservation. Thank you for looking!
