The Toreiyu Tsubasa, the Shinkansen\'s first resort train, debuted on July 19, 2014 as an E3 series 700 series R18 train, repurposing 1 of the E3 series that used to run on the Komachi Shinkansen bullet train under the theme of enjoying \"food, onsen, history, culture, and nature\" while strolling on the train like a hot spring resort. The train was remodeled to include tatami seat reserved seats, bar counter and tatami lounge, and foot bath.
It still operates 1 round trip a day, mainly on weekends, between Fukushima, Yamagata, and Shinjo, the conventional section of the Tsubasa Shinkansen bullet train.[Product specifications]
