Both halves have been mirror polished and display unusually clean, symmetrical agate formation with a rich dark purple crystalline center surrounded by soft lavender-gray chalcedony and sharp cream-colored banding.The geode has an exceptionally round overall shape with thick, deep natural husks preserved around both halves. The matching pattern is extremely strong from side to side, with the interior cavity, banding, and outer contours lining up beautifully.Condition is outstanding. I cannot find a fracture running through either polished face. There are no distracting cracks breaking up the pattern, and the polish is extremely clean. Natural pockets, crystal texture, rind, and exterior irregularities are part of the specimen itself.The dark purple center is particularly impressive in person. Las Choyas geodes can contain amethyst and other quartz varieties, and purple material is documented from the locality, including specimens with deep purple coloration.
