Artwork by Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. The Simpson Chain or Simpson Lever Chain was an English-made bicycle chain invented by William Spears Simpson in 1895. The design departed from the standard bicycle chain, made of linked triangles arranged in two levels. The inner level was driven by the chainring, and the outer drove the rear cog. Instead of teeth, the chainring and cog had grooves into which the rollers of the chain engaged.Nicely rendered on a substantial, smooth, low-gloss book stock. Super-sharp and detailed offset print is 45 years old—not the low-quality modern reprints found all over online. Handled with gloves, perfectly trimmed from a bound collection of vintage poster reproductions, and stored carded in a polypropylene sleeve. Would look beautiful framed.Measures approximately 11\" x 16\" (28 x 41cm). Clean and crisp, with a bright, unblemished print surface.
