Liechtenstein 1944-45 Furstentum 20rp Salmon Red Village Panorama Used Schiessl Courvoisier
Used single, salmon red, photogravure by Courvoisier S.A., design by R. Schiessl. Partial circular cancel in black, arc reading \"SCH...1.46\" — consistent with Schaan cancel dated January 1946. Cancel falls across the lower center of the design, leaving the village and church scene largely clear. Perforations intact on all four sides. Centering slightly low but within normal margins. Penciled collector notation \"w3/62\" (or similar) at center reverse.
Reverse: No hinge remnants. Paper clean with only slight aging tone, no stains or paper loss. Light natural texture.
Historical Note:
Part of Liechtenstein\'s mid-1940s pictorial definitive series depicting villages and landmarks of the principality. The design shows a panoramic view of a Liechtenstein village with an Alpine church. Printed by Helio Courvoisier S.A. of La Chaux-de-Fonds. A Schaan cancel dated early 1946 places this stamp in postal use shortly after the end of World War II — a period when Liechtenstein, as a neutral state, had maintained uninterrupted postal services throughout the war years.
