History: Produced between 1976 and 1978 during the Lionel MPC era, the #6-8050 Delaware & Hudson U36C captures the look of General Electric’s heavy-duty freight locomotive used throughout the 1970s. The Delaware & Hudson’s striking blue, gray, and yellow livery made this model a visual standout in Lionel’s mid-1970s catalogs. The real U36C locomotives powered D&H’s freight operations through the rugged Northeast, often in cooperation with Conrail and Canadian Pacific. Lionel’s version features the classic Pullmor motor, operating headlight, die-cast trucks, and E-unit reversing system. It remains a collector favorite for its blend of postwar performance and colorful MPC-era style.
Condition: Tested and running in both directions. Slightly louder motor noise in one direction — would benefit from cleaning and lubrication.
