One of El Salvador\'s most celebrated and influential groups of the 1960s and 1970s, Los Viking\'s helped define a generation of Salvadoran popular music. Formed in Usulután by Armando Martínez and his musical partner, the group began as a humble duo performing on acoustic guitars modified with homemade microphone pickups and grew into one of the most recognizable sounds in Central America.
Their breakthrough came after a performance at a regional competition where the audience response was so overwhelming that promoter Paquito Palaviccini committed on the spot to record them. From that moment, the name Los Viking\'s de Usulután spread across the country. The arrival of lead vocalist Remberto gave the group an identity that was instantly unmistakable. From the first note, you knew exactly who you were hearing. Over the years they shared stages with artists from across Latin America, proving that Salvadoran musicians could stand alongside anyone on the continent.
