This is a lovely, hand-forged, punched, chiseled, and engraved 17-18th centurywrought iron Spanish door knocker with an engraved, pierced, and forged back plate. It has fullered ears andclosely set eyes. At the midriff is a molded groove which encircles the body. A grooved rectangular molding with an open rectangular hinge is located at the top. The looped mounting pin passes through this.
