MARY LOU HIGGINS Juice or Wine Cup dated 1976 For Sale

Mary Lou Higgins (1926 - 2014) was an exceptionally talented artist, starting out as a weaver then for a short time, a jeweler but who ended up making one-of-a-kind pottery that has become very collectible and for good reason.
She paints Medieval-looking faces on her work. When asked if the figures are femaleor male, she simply would reply \"Yes.\" The faces are beautifully haunting. She putthem on everything once she got started and they were in galleries and high-end craft shops all over the country.
This small cup was described by her as being a juice or wine cup. It has one of herfamous faces, along with some kind of plant life. It is signed and dated 1976. The paintings are dark blue on a mixture of beiges as a background.
