Malatya Kilim Cicim Brown White Geometric Flatwoven 5.1 x 9.7 ft Rug For Sale

A broad faded area across the upper center is the clearest age mark on this Vintage Malatya kilim Rug, a geometric rug measuring 5.1 x 9.7 ft (155 x 296 cm) with a brown ground and white woven detail. The lower short edge has a dark, naturally uneven fringe, and scattered sections of the field show softened color and surface wear. The wear reduces contrast in several areas and gives the flatwoven surface visible variation rather than a uniform finish. This cicim kilim has a dense geometric field made up of small woven marks, stepped diamond forms and larger angular motifs. Brown and white are the recorded primary and secondary colors, with visible muted red, orange, olive and subdued purple accents distributed through the design. A narrow patterned band along the lower end uses repeating angular elements that remain distinct from the larger motifs across the central field. The flatwoven construction keeps the rug visually low-profile, while the 5.1 x 9.7 ft proportions make it suitable as an area rug rather than a runner. Its size can define a living room seating area, a study or a compact dining space while leaving enough of the pattern exposed to appreciate the alternating geometric forms. The Tribal style comes through in the repeated angular layout and irregular rhythm of the motifs rather than through a formal central medallion.A piece of textile history: Made in Türkiye in the 1970s. It is a link to an earlier era. It brings a sense of history to the room. This Vintage Rug is best placed where the faded sections, worn surface and patterned field can remain visible instead of being almost completely covered by furniture. The visible age marks are part of the condition of the piece and contribute to the softer contrast across the brown and white field.SpecsDimensions: 5.1 x 9.7 ftDimensions: 155 x 296 cmProduct type: RugRug type: cicim kilimOrigin: MalatyaPrimary color: BrownSecondary color: WhitePattern: GeometricStyle: TribalConstruction: FlatwovenShape: RectangularCondition: Vintage with visible fading, softened wear and uneven fringe
