Condition Notes: antique / antiquarian condition consistent with the book\'s age. There is some expected toning and scattered foxing to the pages. The principal condition issue is structural: the first signature (the initial bound group of pages) has separated from the binding and boards. The pages are present, but this section is loose from the binding. The remainder of the book has normal age-related wear and remains attractive overall.
The illustrations are numerous throughout. 19th-century edition (a genuine old 1880 edition rather than a modern reproduction).
