This extraordinary late 19th century Gothic Revival crucifix has immense physical presence — standing over two feet tall and weighing an incredible 10.2 pounds. The sheer scale, density, and solemnity of the piece give it the feeling of something architectural rather than decorative. It does not feel mass-produced or modern. It feels old. Heavy. Reverent. Permanent.

The cross itself is formed from thick textured steel or iron with deeply sculptural Gothic-inspired geometry and repeating foliate motifs throughout. Mounted atop it is a beautifully cast bronze or brass corpus of Christ with rich aged patina and remarkable anatomical detail. The dramatic elongated torso, angled head, sharply defined ribs, and flowing drapery folds are all characteristic of high-quality ecclesiastical metalwork from the late Victorian period.

The four roundels at the ends of the cross depict the traditional symbols of the Four Evangelists:
