MosinNagant 91/30 ONLY Muzzle Brake/Compensator MNB-1.
FYI: We are the same people that produces Mosin Nagant Straight Down Sniper Bolt Bodies, Mosin Nagant Slant Back Bolt Bodies & Mosin Nagant Straight Down Sniper COMPLETE Bolt Assemblies since 2012.
We have sold over 500 of these units. We Started in 2012 and stopped producing them in 2018 due to materials made it not cost effective. However, when cleaning up the shop, we found a box of 19 that were ready to tig weld, finish and test fire. However, we will not make any more, and to make sure, we destroyed the welding jig, so this will be the last run EVER !!!! HISTORY LESSION : During the wars the Mosin Nagant would be fired with the bayonet in place to help compensate for the muzzle rise because of it's weight, which could be around 8". Our MNB-1 weight is about the same weight as the bayonet. However, the bayonet does not have vent holes that pushes the barrel down and additional vent holes that center the barrel.
We are the Designer/ Manufacturer and hold the Intellectual Property rights to the MNB-1.

A MuzzleBrake/Compensator is the single most effective way to reduce Recoil and MuzzleRise. The best type of brake is the one that screws onto the end of the barrel,however, your barrel is permanently scarred and if not properly cared for, thethreads will dissolve due to the different metals used to make these barrels.
There aremuzzle brakes on the market for the M44, etc., but they use several differenttypes of clamps and screws to secure them to the barrel. This causes a problemin a short timewith the screws bending, braking or justfalling out and the muzzle brakeblowing off down range. The MNB-1 DOES NOT have this problem (it locks inplace), plus you can remove it (no tools)so your rifle can fit back inits case. It looks simple enough (and familiar), but I assure you that a lot of Engineering and Expert TigWelding has gone into making the MNB-1. To my knowledge, there is nothingcurrently on the market forthe 7.62 X 54R Mosin Nagant 91/30, except forthe screw-on muzzle brakes. EveryMNB-1 is test fired to ensure proper fitand reaction prior to having the finish applied.
Just likeyour rifle,the MNB-1needs to be properly cleaned (all ports) aftershooting. The MNB-1has a rich black matte finish. Since the barrels wereall a little different, the MNB-1 has been sized on four different barrels. Asemi-snug fit is normal and recommended. The rifle in the pictures is notincluded with the MNB-1. Pictures shown are general in nature.
How does aMuzzle Brake/Compensator work (THEORY)?
Think of the air around Muzzle Brake/Compensator as a wall.When fired, gases push the bullet up the barrel. When these gases reach the twotop ports on the side, they expel energy pushing (against the wall) the barreldown. When the gases reach the four angled top ports, they center (pushingagainst the wall) the barrel. When the gases reach the final two large openingsat the top, they decrease the sound down range by sending most of that energyright and left not straight ahead (again, pushing against the wall). As all ofthis is happening, your rifle is being pushed backward (you are now the wall)in a controlled manor, thus producing a reduced and more comfortable kick.Also, along with all these gases being expelled through all these ports isgunpowder residue and fire, that would be normally be sent down range. Be awareof your surroundings, you could start a fire. You will find the noise levelaround your rifle to be considerably louder (less than normal down range), sowear good ear and eye protection. People around you could also be affected.Advise them to protect themselves.
