NASA Voyager 1 last photo w/ original negative. After reading the Nat Geo article in 1990 I wrote to NASA for a copy of the 'last picture'. They sent the picture AND the negative. Transparency about 3.5 x 4.5 inches. Photos are 8x10. NASA's description is printed on the flip side of each photo.
Photo taken February 14th 1990. After the photo the camera was turned off to conserve power.
Voyager 1 is still active and transmitting data from interstellar space. Launched on September 5, 1977, Voyager 1 will reach one light-day from Earth November 18th. It's expected keep returning data into the early 2030s.
Note that the number on the back of the photo matches the number on the lower right corner of the negative 90-HC-379.
Nat Geo magazine is included though the cover is detached.
