GRIFFI OPTRON 258 — Vintage Women’s Eyeglasses Frame, Made in Italy
This is a rare vintage women’s eyeglasses frame by GRIFFI, model 258, made in Italy and dating approximately from the 1980s.
The frame is made of transparent acetate with decorative glitter incorporated into the material, creating an attractive shimmering effect throughout the frame. The frame features a distinctive cat-eye shape. The temples are also made of acetate and continue the overall decorative design.
For additional rigidity and structural stability, the temples feature an internal metal core. Particular attention is drawn to the elaborate design of the frame front and temples, which are decorated with decorative crystals/rhinestones, giving the model a distinctive and elegant vintage character.
The frame demonstrates excellent craftsmanship, quality materials, carefully made hardware and quality hinges. The combination of transparent acetate, glitter, crystal decoration and the pronounced cat-eye shape makes this a particularly expressive vintage model.
The temple is marked GRIFFI 258 Made in Italy. The original demonstration lenses are marked OPTRON. Optron is found on vintage European eyewear, including models associated with the German Prestige Optics line; however, no specific collaboration between GRIFFI and Optron has been confirmed for this particular model.
Condition
New Old Stock (NOS) — new, unused vintage stock from an older collection. The frame has never been used. Due to its age and long-term storage, minor superficial micro-scratches or minimal signs of storage may be present. Overall, the frame remains in excellent unused condition.
