OOAK-Vintage Artisan Classic Santa & Toys, Porcelain With Cloth Body, 23\" For Sale

This unique, vintage Santa Claus was handmade by a doll artisanin Southern California in the 1990’s. This handsome guy is approximately 23”tall and was made from a mold distributed by renowned doll sculptor Kay McKeeof Klowns by Kay. His head, hands and feet were poured in porcelain slip and painted intop quality Seeley china paints in a three firing painting process. Thepainting is so detailed that Santa has bluish gray veins on his hands, veryfine eyelashes and he even has a wedding ring! If you zoom in I’m sure you willbe as impressed as I was with the details! His flowing hair, full beard,eyebrows and mustache are made from 100% Angora goat mohair. He has a clothbody with a wire armature, making him gently posable. Santa’s suit and hat are handcrafted from rich, red velvet and trimmed in a snowy white, faux fur. Sewingdetails can be seen in the last picture. Santa’s dark green, velvet bag is stuffedfull of toys that are all included. He has wrapped presents, a football, tiny dolls,a tennis racket, toy cars, a wagon, snow sleds and many more goodies! Alsoincluded is a sturdy doll stand, the base of which was covered in felt andaccented with green braided edging. This Santa Claus is truly a one of a kind,custom made heirloom piece that could be passed down through the generations becauseof the outstanding quality. A real treasure!
