Early 19th century Treenware covered jar just 2-5/8" high. It is signed on the interior of the lid and also a matching mark on the interior rim of the base. Additionally this has a handwritten label on the interior of the lid identifying the type of woods that were used, looks to read Ashleave Maple Box Elder. There was a tiny collectors label on the exterior, but only the remnants of where it once was remain. The mushroom shaped lid has a tiny hole in the lid that looks like a flaw to the grain in the wood, it has never been filled. Otherwise overall the box is in very good condition. A charming early piece of treenware. Measures 2-5/8" high, 1-3/4" diameter.
