Vintage PioneerRT-707 reel-to-reel player/recorder.This was my personal player until I stored it carefully about fifteenyears ago and sold all but one of my tapes.Always operated perfectly, without defect or glitch. I pulled it out about six years ago, patchedit into my system, played my onetape, and the Pioneer worked beautifully again.Back into storage it went until this week. It powers up, lights up, and plays both directionsat both 9.5 and 19, with pitch control seemingly spot on. But, I only have the one tape, and it\'s a fragile,self-recorded 40-year-old tape. When Iplayed it both directions, it sounds faint and muddy, not distinct at all. I don\'t know if that\'s the tape now, or ifthe player needs a tune-up. Allfunctions - FF, Rew, Play (both directions) - seem to work as they should. Testing was only done through the headphonejack as I am unable to set the Pioneer up into a system right now, so no checkingof standard RCA inputs/outputs.
To summarize: this dependable Pioneer has always operatedwell and seems to function fine now except for muddy, garbled playback (bothdirections) from the one tape I have to audition. Output testing through headphone jackonly. Playback at both speeds and both directions checkedbut not Record. Fast Forward/Rewind bothoperate as they should. Again, I had no way to test for Record. There area few typical blemishes to the chassis, nothing significant nor frightening,and those are documented in the photos posted, so please scan through thepics.
Also included as abonus is a decent condition, not mint PR85 7\" take-up reel.
