This is an authentic pair of 18th century Chinese export porcelain plates. Produced during the Qianlong period, dating to around 1770. They feature the beautifully detailed \"double-peacock\" design, hand-painted in vibrant famille rose enamels with central peonies, blue scholar\'s rocks, and a detailed border.
Condition
Both plates have sustained historical fractures that have been heavily and professionally restored. The reverses show filled indents where early professional metal repair staples were once used and since professionally replaced. Despite the extensive historic repairs, the restoration is structurally excellent, and both plates still ring clearly when tapped.
They display beautifully from the front with the cracks being heavily disguised on the face, making them a fantastic and stable choice for an antique wall display or cabinet arrangement..
