This iconic line embodies the transition between High Art Deco (1920\'s) to Machine Age/ Moderne movement (1930\'s).
The feathered ARROW below the switch is a stand out feature in this line. The chevron design on the arrow is a classic geometric signature of the 1930\'s era. SO ART DECO!!
The original pair of heavily molded White Frost Slip Shades fit perfectly. The speed bumps that run down the shades depict the Moderne Streamline design style so popular in buildings, trains and automobiles of the Art Deco Era.
In my over 25 years of collecting Slip Shade Lighting of this era, I have owned several of the matching chandeliers from the same Markel Line with the identical design feature- the Iconic Arrow Finials. This is the only pair of sconces that I\'ve owned. Any seasoned collector knows that they aren\'t easy to come by. Are they RARE? I always hesitate to use that word, but try searching the internet on competing websites.
A very sleek modern design in a satin buffed aluminum finish with white frost streamlined shades which are quite sizable and in very nice shape for almost a century old. Satin finish on both sides. No cracks or notable chips to the face, front fin, top edge or ribbing. Nothing that shows when installed! No scuffs or discoloration. There are a couple of tiny chips on the hidden fitter edge, as expected.
Sockets are copper lined original- rewired with new cardboard covers. New nickel turn switches for safety. Nickel bolt covers, brass threaded pipes and heavy quality cross bars. Everything you need to hang on arrival is included.

Shades will be double boxed. I have never had a single damage claim in over 25 years. I\'m sure not going to break my winning streak on these beauties.
When hung, these Art Deco Wall Sconces are quite stunning, and actually put out nice light. Appropriate for most any style of home from Craftsman to Contemporary, I could see hanging these Markel 1930\'s Slip Shade Wall Sconces either side of a fireplace or bathroom mirror alike! I would love them in a hall, master bedroom, living or dining room adorning a favorite piece of art or mirror.
