Pair of matching Chinese porcelain temple/ginger jars dating to the early Republic Period (c. 1920s–1930s). Each jar is decorated in overglaze polychrome enamels featuring a narrative figure scene on the front showing women and children in Republic-era attire with umbrellas/parasols, a flag, and architectural elements against a landscape backdrop. The reverse of each jar displays hand-painted Chinese poetic calligraphy in black script. The matching domed lids feature bright red peony blossom enamel work and top calligraphic markings. Total Height (with Lid): ~15.5 inches (approx. 39.5 cm)- Base Diameter: ~7.75–8 inches (approx. 20 cm)
Body & Glaze: Overall structural condition is sound with normal firing glaze pops, iron specks/pinholes, and minor production surface variations inherent to period manufacture.- Lids: Minor edge chips, rim wear, and light glaze wear around the underside edges and top finials (highlighted in close-up photos).
- Bases: Raw unglazed foot rims show age-appropriate darkening and surface shelf wear.
