Pair Late Victorian Princess Alexandra of Bavaria Portrait Miniatures Framed

Beautiful pair of late Victorian decorative portrait miniatures depicting Princess Alexandra of Bavaria, presented in matching oval wood frames with gilt inner borders.
These are later 19th-century interpretations/copies of earlier portraits of Princess Alexandra of Bavaria, rather than period miniatures painted during her lifetime. Both show Alexandra in romanticized mid-19th-century dress, with the elaborate center-parted ringlet hairstyles associated with fashionable portraiture of the 1830s–1840s.
One portrait shows her in a pale blue off-the-shoulder gown with tiered sleeves and a small brooch at the bodice. The companion portrait depicts her seated in a similar pale blue gown, wearing bracelets and an exceptionally pretty arrangement of pink roses in her dark hair.
The pair has a wonderfully decorative Victorian look and displays beautifully together. The oval frames have warm brown molded finishes with gilt inner surrounds and retain old paper-covered backs and hanging wires.
Measurements:
Each frame measures approximately 5.25 inches long x 4 inches wide.
Date:
Late Victorian, approximately late 19th century.
Condition:
Both are in antique condition with age-related wear. The wood frames show scattered rubbing, finish loss, small chips and wear, most noticeably along the lower edge of one frame. The gilt borders also show some wear. The glass has been replaced at some point. Paper backs and hanging wires show age and wear. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
