Pedro Lemos was a Portuguese-born American artist, educator, and printmaker active in California during the early 20th century. He was associated with the Arts and Crafts movement and played a significant role in the development of West Coast printmaking. Lemos served as director of the Stanford University Museum and promoted the woodcut as a primary artistic medium. His works frequently depict California coastal and rural landscapes rendered in simplified decorative forms and flat color harmonies.
