A brilliant yellow face dominates the composition, drawn with broad, assured black strokes and interrupted by a single circular field of saturated pink. Keil reduces the features to their essentials—large asymmetrical eyes, sweeping brows, an elongated nose and a series of abbreviated horizontal marks defining the mouth and chin.
The limited palette and generous areas of exposed canvas give the painting an unusually clean, direct quality, with individual brushstrokes remaining clearly visible.
