This damper uses a traditional elastomer-style vibration control system, with an inertia ring isolated by an elastomer material to absorb and control crankshaft torsional vibration. This design helps reduce harmful crankshaft harmonics that can contribute to bearing wear, timing instability and crankshaft fatigue at higher engine speeds.
