About the artist:Glenn Drawdy, a Georgia native, received an Accounting Degree from Middle Georgia State University and a Business Administration Degree from Augusta University. For over 30 years, he climbed the corporate ladder in the accounting and technology arenas for several Fortune 50-ranked companies. While on a business trip several years ago, he suffered a stroke, which nearly took his life and left his dominant side paralyzed.
No longer able to be successful in his chosen field, he turned to art. He filled up endless sketchbooks and waste baskets fine fine-tuning his style and non-dominant one-handed technique. Today, he uses his unaffected left hand together with his mouth and teeth to paint the “Faces” of subjects he admired throughout his life. He now has collectors in several countries, three U.S. territories, and throughout the United States.
He uses bold and vibrant acrylic and oil colors to represent the bold lives his subjects lived. He normally focuses on the “Faces” of historical subjects with animals and a few non-historical ones thrown in to keep his interest. He paints his subjects “Faces” the same way as they touched our world - boldly, intensely, vividly, brilliantly, non-conforming and in most cases…with total disregard for the status quo.
