I’m pleased to present you these rare and stunning set of four AMBER label under glass apothecary/pharmacy bottles. If you collect amber bottles or label under glass pharmacy bottles, this is a rare and possibly once in a lifetime chance to own a beautiful small set like this.
These bottles date from approximately 1870 to 1890 and are marked Redington & Company San Francisco on the bottom as can be seen in the photos. See below for info on the Redington company.
Historical Overview:
The Manufacturer: Redington & Co. was established during the Gold Rush era in 1849 and became the first and oldest wholesale drug house in the American West, operating for an entire century until 1949.
Era of Production: Bottles with this specific base configuration and stylized curved embossing typically date back to the late 1800s (roughly 1870–1890). They were regularly utilized for wholesale liquid pharmaceuticals, aromatic waters, or specialized tonics such as Newell’s Pulmonary Syrup or Florida Water
You get all four bottles shown . As shown in the photos, some have chips in the glass over the labels, (all shown in the photos) but all in all a pretty incredible set.
The bottles are empty a one of the stoppers is stuck in the bottle.
Retirement is coming up soon so it’s time for me to start getting rid of some of my collection. I’ve asked over the last 30 years. Time for a new home to appreciate these!
