RARE 1986 Stevie Ray Vaughan SRV Paris Olympia Original Poster #179/1000 For Sale

RARE NUMBERED ORIGINAL — STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN — 179/1000Offered is an original 1986 Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble concert poster from the band’s two-night appearance at the legendary L’Olympia Bruno Coquatrix in Paris, France, September 23–24, 1986.This exceptionally scarce example is individually numbered:179 / 1000The poster also incorporates the period R.Show 107.5 Paris — “la station balnéaire à Paris” promotional identification directly into the poster itself. It is not a sticker, attachment, or later addition, but an integral part of this promotional issue.EXTREMELY SCARCE NUMBERED ISSUEWhat separates this example from other documented Olympia posters is its 179/1000 limited-edition numbering. As part of our research, we personally contacted and spoke with multiple sale houses regarding the numbered issue. We were informed that numbered examples are known to exist, but are extremely uncommon to encounter on the public market, with the edition limited to only 1,000 examples. We also searched publicly accessible sale archives, dealer records and marketplace history for another numbered example.Original examples of this exact 1986 L’Olympia design have appeared at major sale, including examples handled by Heritage sales. However, the Heritage examples we reviewed were UNNUMBERED.Most importantly, we have not located another individually numbered /1000 example of this exact poster appearing in the publicly accessible sale and marketplace records reviewed. Therefore, No. 179/1000 is presently the only numbered example we have located as having surfaced publicly during our research. This is not a claim that No. 179 is the only numbered example surviving. Our sale-house inquiries indicate other numbered examples exist, potentially in private collections. The significance is how rarely this numbered issue appears on the open market.TWO HISTORIC NIGHTS IN PARISThe poster advertises:STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN & DOUBLE TROUBLE
L’OLYMPIA BRUNO COQUATRIX — PARIS
SEPTEMBER 23 & 24, 1986 — 20H30The striking black-and-yellow design depicts Vaughan with his guitar and survives as a tangible artifact connected to two specific nights in the lifetime career of one of the most influential blues guitarists of the modern era.Nearly four decades later, this remains genuine period concert memorabilia rather than modern commemorative wall art.R.SHOW 107.5 PARISThe poster incorporates the period R.Show 107.5 — “la station balnéaire à Paris” promotional identification. The R.Show element is part of the poster itself, and combined with the 179/1000 numbering, distinguishes this example from the unnumbered Olympia posters located in major sale records.DOCUMENTED sale HISTORYThe original 1986 L’Olympia design has established sale documentation.Heritage sales sold an unnumbered Near Mint example for $350 in 2023.Those records independently document the original Olympia poster design, but neither Heritage example reviewed carried the /1000 numbering found on this example.Later reproductions of this artwork are known. This offering is the original numbered example shown in the photographs and should not be confused with later decorative reproductions.DETAILSArtist: Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
