RARE ANTQ 19C American Folk Art / Naive School Paint-on-Fabric \"Horse in Stable\" For Sale

RARE Antique 19th-Century Traditional American Folk Art / Naive School Paint-on-Fabric \"Horse in the Stable\", Framed!
This is an exceptional rare antique 19th-century American folk textile painting on fabric depicts a horse in a stable, showcasing the unique and authentic style of naive school painting. Executed on a textured woven fabric, this piece features the quintessential flat perspective and bold, graphic outlines of folk art due to its flat perspectives, simplified structural shapes, and charmingly non-standard anatomical scale. This piece is a classic example of American Naive or Folk Art, which flourished during the 19th century. Instead of prioritizing perfect anatomical proportions or complex linear perspective, the artist focused on a simplified, flat composition with rich textures, stark lines, and warm earthy tones. This straightforward approach gives its characteristic nostalgic charm. The artwork depicts a rich chestnut horse with a white blaze marking on its forehead peeking out from its wooden stall, framed alongside simple farm elements like a hanging tether strap, a window grid, and a metal utility bucket, emphasizing decorative pattern and localized color over formal realism. The scene is rendered in a charmingly naive, rustic folk art style with flattened dimensions and muted tones.Similar historic equestrian and rustic stable paintings are highly valued among antique art collectors.
