Terrific vintage signed 16x20\" of Rocky Marciano\'s famous knockout, capturing the Heavyweight Championship in 1952
Famous image of Marciano\'s short right to Jersey Joe Walcott\'s jaw in the 13th round of their heavyweight fight was beautifully autographed in ball-point by the new Champion. Photo measures 20 x 16\" and is quite clear and sharp.
Inscribed and signed in a perfect location \"To Bruno, Best to you, Rocky Marciano 7/30/59\". The writing is neat and bold, just about as solid as it was nearly 67 years ago.
The \"Bruno\" this amazing piece was gifted to was Bruno Beradinelli, a Cleveland area resident who owned a few restaurants in the area, including The Blue Fox. After his boxing career was over, Marciano had many friends and business people in Cleveland he would visit on a regular basis. Rockywould sign one and give it to a restaurant or tavern owner he became friendly with.
I have owned four of five others like this in the past; they are actually thin stock posters Marciano would have in the trunk of the car of whoever was driving him around that particular day. The ones I owned and the few others I have seen in sale house listings were always signed in the late 1950\'s to the early 1960\'s.
The photo/poster is in very nice shape. It has a few wrinkles, but this one of the nicer ones I have seen. It is in a period frame that is in good condition.
My last photo shows another signed Marciano 20 x 16\" that I used to own; the seller has it listed on for $11,000.00
I was the first winner of PSA\'s World Series of Autograph Authentication in 2005. I can easily separate the good and bad on Rocky\'s signature, whether they date to 1949, or 1969. This 16 x20\" photo of Marciano\'s knockout punch signed by him is guaranteed 100% authentic and review.
It will come with my detailed Letter of Authenticity which is shown in the fourth photo.
