Pair of sponsons for canoe or other small boat. Includes attachment bolts, washers and nuts. 9 feet long. 4 inches high. 2 inches thick. Price is for one box of 2 sponsons. Material is black ethafoam with UV stabilization. It is kind of like pool-noodle material, except it is smooth on the exposed side, looks nicer and has much longer life due to superior resistance to sunlight and abrasion. These are from Radisson. Identical to what they put on all their new canoes.
What would happen if your canoe or jon boat flipped and became filled with water? Would it still float? The added flotation of sponsons will help keep it and you from going to the bottom. Helps with stability too and acts as a bumper as well.
Made of extremely long lasting ethafoam, which is a resilient closed-cell foam that can stand up to outdoor conditions, including many years of outdoor storage. Bolts are plated steel with this item.
We have same sponsons in another listing for more $$ and those come with stainless steel hardware or for less $$ that come with no hardware. The item you are reading now comes with plated hardware. Take your pick.
These are 9 feet long and are the only size they use, even on their longest canoes. But you could get two sets and cut and splice them for additional flotation if you want. They are easy to cut. A saw-tooth bread knife works great for the purpose.Review:

Okay, the sponsons I purchased from you last weekare awesome! We went camping and really loaded the canoe down. Out on the open and rough water the sponsons did a magnificent job of deflecting waves out and away from the canoe as they crashed into us. Normally I may have hadto run the bilge pumps a couple of times on a trip like that, but not this time. Hardly any water splashed in, it was truly amazing (of course I did almost fully wrap my entirecanoe since I installed two sets!)
Anyway, they worked great, they spliced together very nicely, and reallylook good on the canoe. I wish I would have ordered them sooner.
