An Art Nouveau beauty on shimmering fabric — this antique framed textile print is attributed to Raphael Kirchner, the Viennese artist beloved for his golden-age postcard designs. It shows an elegant lady in a flowing green dress amid flowers, butterfly at her shoulder, in Kirchner\'s signature romantic style.
The design belongs to Kirchner\'s K.3 “Girls Amid Plants” series, catalogued to 1903. The K.3 \"Girls Amid Plants\" series is documented in Dell\'Aquila\'s Raphael Kirchner\'s Postcards reference. The maker of this larger fabric edition is unknown, and so is its exact date — part of what makes it so intriguing.
What sets this piece apart is its ground: a lustrous fabric whose fine textile strands catch the light as you move past it, sending a soft shimmer across the figure and background. The photographs show the effect, though it\'s even lovelier in person.
It measures approximately 14 inches tall x 6.5 inches wide, including the wood frame — a narrow, elegant format made for a hallway, a gallery wall, or that one empty spot that needs something special.
Condition: honest age-related wear, including discoloration, staining near the lower edge, and areas of image wear. Please study the close-up photos so you know exactly what you\'re getting.
A hard-to-find piece for collectors of Art Nouveau, Kirchner, and antique textile art — and a one-of-a-kind gift for anyone who loves beautiful old things with a story behind them.
