Rare, complete original copy of American Notes and Queries (Volume 1, Number 3), published on March 1, 1857, in Philadelphia by the noted old-book and print seller William Brotherhead. Modeled after the famous British journal of the same name, this highly specialized monthly publication served as a critical intercommunication medium for 19th-century literary enthusiasts, historians, and bibliophiles. Because it was a short-lived venture, only four numbers were ever produced (January to April 1857) before it ceased publication, making individual issues exceptionally difficult to find today
