Vintage 1921 C.G. Conn New Wonder Series I alto saxophone, serial #72450, made in Elkhart, Indiana.
This silver-plated example features an ornate “Zamora Temple” engraving above the C.G. Conn marking. Zamora Temple was a Birmingham, Alabama Shriners organization with a documented band during this period, making this an especially interesting early Conn. Exact history and individual ownership of this instrument are unknown.
Marked A 72450 L (Alto / Low Pitch) and PAT’D DEC. 8, 1914 – 1119954.
Shows normal wear consistent with its age, including scratches, tarnish, finish wear and aged pads. Instrument has not been professionally tested or serviced and is being sold as-is. It may require cleaning, adjustment and/or repair before playing.
