Guys and dolls… Please read this story so you know exactly what you will be receiving here. It’s very important.
I’m going to tell you exactly everything about this engine that I know. So here we go.
There was an estate sale near my house that a friend conducted and the man passed away. Part of the estate sale was a vintage MG car that was running and pretty cool looking and a little bit rusty and they said the car ran nicely and etc. so this guy had a whole bunch of MG parts in his garage. He had an MG dashboard and all kinds of cool stuff laying around. And he also had this engine and transmission. And I thought it looked really cool. I thought somebody could definitely restore this because it’s a small four-cylinder engine. And I know there’s a lot of guys who like to tinker with things like this so I purchased it for a pretty hefty price.
The estate sale guy was my friend so I asked him if I could have the transmission along with it and he said yes, so I figured it would sweeten the deal for you to have both parts plus the big gears which I think our fly wheels and it could be for this engine or it might not be. They were right alongside this engine stored, so I grabbed the flywheels and I think the other thing is a clutch and it might not even be for this car but I took it anyway just in case. If it isn’t, you could always have parts to sell to recoup while you pay for this engine and transmission.
So the thing is I’m not an expert in engines. I normally sell antiques and anything of value really so please consider me a non-expert 100%.
However, I tried to manually with my hand, move the bottom belt gear and I could not make it turn by hand without any tools. So I’m telling you what I see. I don’t know if it would be possible to move that part by hand, but it’s definitely not moving. Count on this engine to need work.
And like I said… I don’t know if this transmission is for this engine or not, but it was right next to it and I took it so you get both the engine and the transmission but I don’t know if they lineup. They are probably both for a British car so that’s kind of cool and you could always sell one or the other part.
Visually it looks pretty cool. The blue paint looks pretty neat at one other thing I noticed… He had the spark plugs in hand tightened so I was able to pull a spark plug without even any tools so he kept those nice and loose. That’s probably a good idea for storage. You won’t have to fight those. But… It’s definitely gonna need some work so count on it.
And here’s a very big thing… No returns as is as found for parts or restoration only.
Regarding shipping… If you set up a carrier I’ll be there to have him load it into his truck so that’s the best I can do but also I could offer local pick up only. there are private shipping companies that will ship this so you should look around if you are far from my home. But once the shipper has it in his possession, I’m going to have him sign for it and it’s your responsibility. Once this motor leaves my possession. I will take no further responsibility regarding anything after it leaves my possession.
I will not show this engine unless you pay for it.
So I think I described it pretty good and I took some good pictures of it. I told you about the pulley bottom that I tried to move with my hand and it didn’t move. And the transmission is as is also for parts or restoration only. Both parts are for parts or restoration only. And like I said, it comes with the flywheel parts and that thing that I called the clutch. So it comes with a bunch of stuff. And everything is as is as found for parts of restoration only sold by a non-expert.
My friends… I truly am not an expert and everything I told you is straight up. I think it would be so much fun to have this little tiny engine in a car…A little British car. That would be so cool. That MG that the guy had was totally cool and so small. It was a neat sale.
